THE PROJECT
Moy Materials are a leading are suppliers of roofing and waterproofing materials for to the construction industry in Ireland and Europe. Their headquarters in Tallaght required additional administration spaces, new trade counter, kitchens and refurbishment of existing office areas.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
- Phasing – Ensuring business continuity to the trade counter at all times meant the client could trade undisturbed by the fit-out works taking place. Sectional handovers were completed and staff migration to finished areas allowed the project to be completed with zero downtime.
- Structural Steel Mezzanine Floor – In order to provide future proofing we installed a new mezzanine structure in structural steel beams and columns under an existing lightweight mezzanine floor. We designed all the necessary temporary works in order to maintain the integrity of the existing structure until the new steel structure was completed.
- External Works – Significant alterations were made to the external cladding of the building to make way for new external windows and doors. Secondary steel was installed in phases to provide supports for the window windows and doors.
- Programme – The programme has been set extremely tight due to our client looking to migrate new staff into the building. By holding regular reviews and having procured long lead items in line with delivery, the earliest handover date was achieved.
